In the past two weeks our hit count ticker has shot up bringing us far above the 1000 hit per day mark on qru.com
alone with a combined total of over 1500 hits daily. Much of this increase can be attributed to recent re-seeding of our site enabling greater accessibility through various Internet search engines, and the adding various sections such as the Vampire Gallery, that attract the interest of many, and the wonderful new features created by David Cole like local search engines and our very own web page chat. But all of the increase can be attributed to you, our loyal friends and visitors who keep coming back to see what is new at Qru Studios. The Know Madz have an extensive library full of original works compiled by our staff. With material ranging from stories and poetry to brief essays on a variety subjects and information regarding the Bill of Rights, time management and dealing with stress, we have something that almost anyone can enjoy or find useful. The members of the Qru have interests as diverse as art and agriculture, politics and physics and we often add another story or essay and if you cannot find what you want try our search engine or come again the following week. Tate Madler has put an entire volume of his poetry up in The Book of Small i You can always write to us at info@qru.com asking if we have something you need. We are always happy to provide information for our friends and clients. The Library is free of charge, without the hassle of checkout, return dates, overdue fees so be sure to keep a watch on the library as it is constantly growing. |

Down to Business |
The time has come to put our goals into a serious plan of action. With the invaluable research of Andy Lowry of Anaconda Press we are
putting together a business proposal that will enable us to compete on the same level as companies that are already prominent in the Internet community. Having researched the competition we have found that even the largest, most prestigious developers of Internet applications are boasting only some of the same technologies we offer. You are already familiar with our high level of design and belief in content based sites as well as an individual approach to our clients that you have come to appreciate. Our look to inventing the future has already put us ahead of the now and into the cutting edge in fields such as VRML where we have been prolific while others are still testing the waters. You have seen our sites grow in concept and scope with search engines, chats, forums and database management. It is time to put all of this together into a comprehensive package for the public. We can offer any of these capabilities to small clients at an affordable rate or customize the suite of them to suit major corporations with specific needs for their sites.
We enter this next phase of planning on the cusp of a new year. While our financial report for 1996 is not available to the public, we will be happy to present it to those who are interested in investing in our progress to the future. We are very appreciative of all of you who have continued to have faith in us throughout our most trying formative year and hope that you will be there as we move on to greater heights. |

Chatting it up on the Inner Outpost |
After a very successful week on the Inner Outpost chat, we decided to do it again. On Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8:00p.m. you can meet the staff of Qru Studios on our very own server. We will be there to talk about everything from how to set up your own server at home to our favorite music. We love meeting our friends so come on over and visit. Just click on the "CHAT" button on the main menu of the Inner Outpost. If you want to use the chat at other times with your friends it will be up for another three weeks. but remember, let us know if you do, we can't keep it going without your support. Come and try it out, you will probably find at least one of us there at all times, or perhaps a friend of yours, or someone you want to meet. |

the KnowMadz discuss life on planet earth - a multicultural view | The KnowMadz now have their very own discussion forum. As descendants from the original peoples who roamed the Earth and populated her various regions, the KnowMadz are very interested in hearing about the travels of others and the divers cultures in the world. We believe in bringing the descendants of our ancestors back together in an open forum which, unlike a newsgroup, will keep your message alive for future visitors to peruse and learn from. If you are from someplace that differs from other parts of the world, if you believe in something that not everyone agrees with or has even heard of, then we invite you to share your experiences with us. If you have made contact with members of our family that you never knew of before and wish to share that experience with fellow KnowMadz please leave a message on our forum. Many of us cannot stay in one part of the Earth for fear of never meeting our long lost cousins, come and share with those of us who feel the same. We are all teachers with something to contribute to the education of mankind. |

Killing the Freak! |
Freak is a vicious virus that infects the system area of the boot drive. During a routine troubleshooting we had our first confrontation with this critter last week. Freak eliminates usage of the delete and attrib. commands, two very effective tools in eradicating viruses. However, through the use of a command ported from UNIX the virus was outsmarted and eliminated. Qru Studios is available for consultation to those who are troubled by Freak or other viruses. We have extensive experience not only in eliminating viruses, but preserving data in the process. |
