We recently drew a black curtain on our studio window to calibrate the newest display technology we have seen in a while - Hi Fidelity. The cables it supports are outstanding, VTR, 2-source compositing is part of the base unit. Fortunately our re-salesman Mr. Schneider provided both the dealer, base unit and remote controls in their entirety. He sold it to us on the behalf of a fellow video buff. Although costing over $11,000 in 1987, The final purchase for The Studio was an unprecedented amount under one tenth the original value, delivered to our door and given a very thorough explanation of the unit's special talents right inside The Studio.

The first thing we noticed was it warms up in 1.5 seconds. Then the built in alignment screen was thrown up and we converged the colored grids until they formed a solid white field, and the vertical scan lines became sharp. As our output is most often digital to begin with, no blurring of the image was desired.

Illustrated projection setups range from 72" to 100" to 250" depending on the triangulation and distribution of the light path. distance (lenses converge or spread with spacers The light dances over the projector at a Horizontal clip from 15-36 kHz paired with the awesome Vertical beam range of 40-150 Hz (including overscan region)

Further benefits of the unit.

  • 3 RGB CRT Tubes - 3 5.5in high-brightness monochrome tubes, coolant sealed.
  • Projection lens - F 1.0/130mm high-performance hybrid lens
  • Brightness of projector - 300 lumens (100 per tube)
  • 1100 scan lines in BNC Coaxial Video Mode (digital) OR 600 scan lines in analogue video.
  • Flips and rotates display orientation for both Back Projection, ceiling mounting.
  • BNC Video Transfer bus w/ R/G/B/Sync cabling
  • Direct RCA Jack Video In (gold plated connectors)
  • Pass through cable splits signal to Monitor and Projector, for color calibration.
  • Adjustment for screen curve and X/Y alignment (each color)
  • Remote control for Projector Unit enables the unit to be mounted on ceiling
  • external controls thru a slim control unit.
We look forward to the many fine uses we could apply this device for as we can be sure yours is just ticking away at the possibilities. Training and Multimedia we believe we will be getting much use out of this one device.
