Searching Qru Space

After you create a web site, if you like doing it, it will grow. Usually for the better, but if an important refrence is halfway down the the document, three sections later, or on another related domain, you need a way to access it. Often you know what you want, but can't quite place it. Search engine to the rescue! The search function will locate (and link to) the web pages containing that information. There can be no bad links from the search engine - it finds all available content.

Currently installed on Qru Space, this search engine works about twice as fast as our last version, and now covers all of our hosted domains. The entire suite of 4000+ pages that we host are all fair game fot this search.

As you search through Qru Space, an index of your searches is kept to speed the results of similar searches, faster. The next step for the search is an adaptation of the "ICE Query Engine" being developed at Cornell University. Written in Perl, it works on all platforms that support Perl - including Mac, Windows, and all UNIX flavors, By building a "reverse index" of words to pages (per word, which pages it was found in, it cuts response times to 1 or 2 seconds.
