Tech Tips
This has been a fairly intensive week as we have been reconfiguring our LAN to accommodate our new server. We are also on the lookout for a next phase of clientele so that we can continue on the track we have been on. Stay tuned for more information.

New Server
On Friday we brought the Obelisk back to our LAN. The Obelisk originated from the "South Fourth Street Days" and was/is to be a UNIX testing ground before deployment to collocation. Currently the Pentium 166/32 has been fully integrated into our local area network and has been taking over some of the server tasks from Beauty enabling her to act more fully as a workstation and preparing the Obelisk for a long tour of duty online.

Shopping Cart
We have completed phase II of our shopping cart system and have made it available for general viewing on the Inner Outpost. I know that you waited a while for this one but this is not just any shopping cart. After making a functional system, David Cole and Tate Madler explored a variety of shopping carts on-line to see what features they liked best and researched what visitors want most. Our shopping cart system allows the visitor to browse through all of our clients' sites enabling consumers to find out more about a company or related services without ever losing their purchase. As Qru Studios is in process creating our Online catalog we request that you make no purchases from the site at this time. However, we do invite you to our store mock-up where you can find portable holes and the bottom line from Anticorp Incorporated. Eventually we will be selling old and outdated equipment from the early dawn of computers, as well as some extra parts, not forget a request your own site from an online form. Remember, everyone of our clients who puts a shopping cart on there site has the added benefit of knowing that they are connected through a secure server and their customers can shop safely and are associated with a growing population of prestigious clients servicing a variety of industries.

On the LAN
NT
We have recently installed Windows NT 4.0. Windows NT, was specifically designed to be a far more stable system than Windows95. Visually it looks very much like former Microsoft operating system package making it an easy transition for the end user that has been following the trends. It is also fully compatible with Windows 95 third party titles alleviating the need to upgrade new workstation software for the rest of our machines. In conjunction with our recently acquired dedicated line, our Intranet should become far more accessible to our remote Qru members as well as ensuring stability and consistency when demonstrating the system to clients.

On the See

New Banner
The Jackie Robinson paraphernalia web site for which Qru Studios provided the secure server is posted. As part their page hosting there is a banner on the Inner Outpost linkBASE. This is as exciting for us as it is for the owner of the site as our first implementation of the secure server system. With many other clients expressing interest in secure on-line transactions, we see our role as an important one for making purchasing over the Internet safer and easier.

Client Side
Ever Searching
As many of the projects on the table have been winding to an end, we have been spending more time recruiting new clients. By following leads on prominent companies in the Chicago area that were still in need of web sites, we sent out our newly developed marketing material. We have already received positive response from a few potential clients and are in process of setting up meetings where we can discuss their needs and what we can do to fulfill such needs. As job possibilities become realities we will be sure to give you more information.

The Buzz
The Buzz Company believes Qru Studios to be comparable to some of the top web site design companies in Chicago based on our fresh outlook and creativity in design and implementation. They have recently requested us to consult with some of those companies to expand their services. As we are finishing up many of our major projects right now with new potentials not yet in production, Tate Madler, our Creative Director, will be representing Qru Studios as a consultant for the Buzz Company to a local subsidiary of Black Dot. We see great potential in this as our early consultation brought many large companies into our circle of friends.

Heckl
Qru Studios has recently made contact with Heckle, Inc. Tate Madler our Founder/Creative Director and Corey Schneider Founder/Programmer of Heckl, worked out the ideas for their respective companies together over coffee at local diners (over five years ago) and are happy to see that both are still going strong very much and again on the same path. We hope to see collaborative efforts between the two companies in the near future.
