I do not pray for a sunny day to come on the day I have a picnic planned because someone may want their garden to grow and there has been a drought.
~Mr. Bialchek 6th grade art teacher, St. John of the Cross School

Welcome to this week's edition of Qru's News. Energy is high around here as we prepare for upcoming projects. Summer is a great time and people are more eager to start new adventures such as entering the world of the Internet. We would like to wish all of our fathers and all of the fathers out there a happy Father's Day. Now would be a great time to get your dad's business its own site or page on the Internet!

Sales Staff
Qru Studios is now interviewing sales staff. The new salespeople will be armed with our most recent marketing material just coming off the presses the past few weeks. We are looking for people who have some knowledge about the Internet and the Web to discuss the many features offered by Qru. Salespeople will not be hired representatives, but rather work on speculation getting a 15% share of any sale they make. We already have a few people under consideration. If you are interested in bringing us clients, give us a call or drop an E-mail http://qru.com/studio/staff/qruinfo.htm. We will be more than happy to send you copies of our marketing material and answer any questions you might have.

VRML
Many of you probably know by now that we can make VRML worlds. To prove it we have created nine unique VRML worlds so you can enjoy the full Qru experience. Our best VRML words include: The Inner Outpost Mall /ioqrucom/images/loden/maul.wrl, an out of this world "mall" linking to many of our client's sites as well as the better sections of our own sites. It is also a representation of what malls may be like in the future of space travel. The KnowMadz House /knowmadzorg/house/vrmlhous.htm, a 3D model of the actual house where the KnowMadz resided. This is quite a feat in modeling as the house is fully furnished. Pooh's World http://gallery/pooh/images/woodz.wrl is actually a collection of worlds showing the various parts of the Hundred Aker Woods. Be sure to look for the pot of hunny at the bottom of the hefalump trap. Our entire LAN http://qru.com/studio/lan/wanlan.wrl has also been modeled and made into a world. Now you can walk around each of our computers and check them out from the comfort of your own chair. We have several other worlds including: Particle Space http://qru.com/space/hypre/paricle.wrl, Contents World http://qru.com/space/images/content.wrl, Qru List http://qru.com/qrulist.wrl, The KnowMadz /knowmadzorg/knowhome.wrl, and Anticorp Incorporated /anticorpcom/anticorp.wrl. The Aunti Productive League has plans for creating their own world one day. It is scheduled for posting some time after the next blue moon.

On the LAN

A Deeper Deeep
On Monday Beauty, our Intranet server, received the bounty of a quantum 6 gigabyte harddrive in place of a drive previously labeled deeep. The new drive, in all of its hugeness was subdivided into 3 partitions of 2 gigabytes each with a small remainder of 47 MB These logical divisions will allow for active data, installation backup, and archives to be segmented and readily accessible. This will prevent future downtime with a double redundant system as well as increase productivity by having everything that was stored on ParaDrive at greater access speed.

Dedication
This past week Qru Studios negotiated with USS.net to get dedicated Internet access of up to 56K. This will take the pressure off of our previous provider which could not understand why we were never logging off. Located on the 99th floor of the Sears Tower, USS.net may be a newcomer to the Chicago scene but they are already well established in San Francisco and Washington D.C. Soon to offer satellite service in the Loop, USS.net are sure to be a giant in local Internet service.

Reaching the Sun
Qru Studios is preparing to build a UNIX based server. We have most of the components necessary to build the machine after our recent redistribution of hardware and have few purchases left to make. This addition will ease up a lot of pressure on Beauty, our current intranet server, which sometimes doubles as a workstation. The new machine will be running Sun Solaris operating system which is more efficient than any Windows or Macintosh server freeing up more resources for our own needs.

In Living Color
We have completed a full color information brochure bringing attention to the services offered from The Inner Outpost. Focused not only on hosting, but on the advantages of affiliating your site with the many features and growing clientele of the Outpost. We are researching high quality printers that can meet our quality needs as well as our estimated budget for these excellent designs and services.

Client Side

Adore-A-Pet
We are putting the finishing touches on the Adore-A-Pet site. The Pet Basket and Dental Defender (TM) sections of the site are complete and awaiting approval from the our friends at Adore-A-Pet. The site will also contain links to hard-to-find products for pets that can be purchased as well an area where visitors can securely purchase pet gift baskets and Dental Defender (TM) products containing Xylitol.

20,000 Hits
>From May 15 through June 11th Fiduciary Trust Company received nearly 20,000 hits (pages accessed) to their site. The Human Resources section is to be added at some point next week. It will list all of the career opportunities available at Fiduciary Trust Company. Tate Madler has designed an intuitive interface and David Cole created the PERL engine that allows the section to have dynamic content that will allow the human resources department to update their job listings easily.

Consultation
Qru Studios has been asked to act as consultant and purchaser for a local corporate law firm as they upgrade their computer system for the first time in eight years. They will be installing a client-server Ethernet Local Area Network containing up to five machines. Qru Studios was selected based on our success with installing our own Equiptment and LAN/WAN at amazingly reasonable cost. Several other companies had been called in for consultation who all recommended over-complex and unwieldly, costly solutions. The lawyers chose to benfit from our services as we could give them a cost-effective system that they could administrate themselves if need arises.

We are constantly updating our site or developing our skills in a new technology. The best way to stay informed is to check out our newsletter every Monday. If you want to receive Qru's News right in your E-mailbox each week sign up on our mailing list
