We are getting in high gear for a lot of wonderful advancement at Qru Studios. With new clients coming on and work continuing with our old friends, as well as recent upgrade initiatives, we have been very busy around here. All this is leaving us little time to make additions to our own sites, but we invite you to visit our clients sites as they are posted and updated. We are also in the final stages of refurbishing our office. If you have not stopped by for a visit lately, you will probably be shocked at the new level of decorum about Qru Studios. |

Creation Made Easy Internet Creator 4.0 arrived from Forman Interactive Corp on Tuesday. For those unfamiliar with the software, Internet Creator allows someone to make fairly complex web sites easily. Features include an auto logo generator, table generator, style templates, function wizards and basic Java applications. All of this is arranged in a familiar Windows Explorer style interface. Tate Madler, our Creative Director, has been following the evolution of Internet Creator since version 2.0 and is very pleased with the direction Forman Interactive Corp. is going with this web site creation tool. He tested the latest version when he designed Inside the Halls of Qru, our choose-your-own-adventure game, during the pre-release beta testing for IC 4.0. Future plans for using this software include the next chapter of our game series, The Quest for Tshugar, date to be announced in the next few weeks. |

Fiduciary On-Line On Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. Central Standard Time, the new Fiduciary Trust Company site went live (sorry to keep you waiting for this one folks). For those who were not privileged to see the new site from inside the studio, you can now see it from their web server. In addition to a new look with easier navigation, we have also added the annual report for 1996. Soon to be added: more information on Fiduciary Financial Services and their Human Resources departments "Careers" section. |

100 Aker Expansion On Wednesday The Hundred Aker Woods, one of our workstations, got a needed upgrade from 16 to 24 MB RAM. While most functions worked easily on 16MB RAM, capabilities have been greatly expanded in the area of graphical editing. Next in line for the Woods is the addition of our CD-ROM writer as it is happier in the friendly environment where Pooh plays.
In the Field David Cole, our Director of Special Effects is working with Frankel & Company He is assisting them with installing a high Bandwidth menuboard for the U.S. Post Office. All multimedia content of these video walls broadcast over Point Of Presence servers via ISDN lines from local hard drives to provide on-site advertising in seconds. This project is to be test marketed in Texas before its release to the general public.
Power on the Desktop We just registered and installed PowerDesk at Qru Studios. PowerDesk replaces the start bar on the Windows95 operating system with a utility belt and is coupled with a dual-pane explorer replacement that is much more suited for the data professionals or for people who just like to get to their files. These tools give addded flexibility and visibility to organize programs and files more effectively. This is the final step required to optimize work and data control at the studio through software.
Optimizing Over the weekend Beauty, our server, underwent intensive reconfiguration. The operations were performed by the keeper of Beauty and the Beast Tate Madler, our Creative Director. Over the course of the newly installed hardware and software on the system several enhanced system configuration devices were inappropriately allocated and performance was lost in several ways. Now sleeker configurations and enhanced functionality will allow beasty to provide even better performance than previously possible. |

Window-Lite On Tuesday we got a new client for the Inner Outpost. Window-Lite provides views of the great outdoors for rooms that do not have windows such as offices, cubicles, or that one corner of your home. the completed test page should go up as soon as final artwork is received. They will also be getting a banner on our linkBASE.
Adore-A-Pet Work is well under way for the Adore-A-Pet site. We are adding a whole new section on Dental DefenderTM, their line of pet dental care products featuring Wiggles and Dr. J. as well as Pet Tips which will give useful information on pet care. Visitors will also be introduced to hard to find products for pets which they can purchase right from the site along with the pet gift baskets that were the cornerstone of Adore-A-Pet until the advent of the Xylitol product line.
Cenflo Further meeting with the editor staff Cenflo took place on Thursday and have been very promising. They have perused similar sites on the Web and wish to expand their site to include more features. Negotiations are in process to determine their budget and what features they feel will best suit their market. The unwritten word is that Cenflo chose Qru Studios over a number of competitors based on price and quality "hands down".
Web Slides The slide show demonstrating Web TV is well underway. Tate and David are working on completing the necessary programming to make the slide show registration possible. We will be meeting with a local representative for Web TV, this week to determine exactly what information will be included in the slide show.
Secure Server Up and Running Qru Studios Incorporated, working in conjunction with Kreative Web Solutions, an Internet development firm based in New York, set up a secure web site for a Jackie Robinson paraphernalia supplier. We were selected to assist because we could supply the client with secure transactions at a reasonable cost for additional mark-up even. Collaboration with Kreative Web Solutions was enjoyable for all parties involved and we hope to work with them again in the future. The site is not available for public viewing at this time but we will let you know as soon as it is. |
