As well as the many advances made this week in our business negotiations and hardware acquisitions, there has been a lot of behind-the-scenes work going on at Qru Studios as usual. We have gathered a slew of new furniture bringing a highly professional look to our office. We have also furnished a staff lounge area equipped for casual consultation or kick-back time. All this took place on top of a slew of general improvements in the office. We know that the image we put forth is the way people will see us and this office says business.

Web TV
Last Friday Tate Madler, our Creative Director met with Sam Torres, field representative for Web TV's future-net division. On the negotiating table was an internal utility to be used by their vendors to present Web TV to prospective customers. The interface would be designed like a slide show that would display the many features available on Web TV. The research and implementation by Qru Studios in intranets and design led to our being chosen hands down to implement this product. With major support from the California office, we have 6000 sales representatives as a test market. Qru Studios will be acting without backing on their own initiative with a moderate investment of time to bring the product to fruition. As Web TV gains significance in the Internet market through its recent acquisition by Microsoft, we see getting in on a piece of their action a major boost for Qru. We will be receiving a Web TV to test our material in its native environment.

Anarchy on the Web Surf Sea
Hardcorp Incorporated, a virtual corporation sponsored by Anticorp Incorporated, lives by the motto "If you take society's tools, you will make society's rules!" To this mercenary group of commando legionaries taking over the world is all in an afternoon's work. Despite their questionable and almost satyrical politics, Hardcorp's site is a resource of hard-to-find information including radio communication codes, informed usage of technology, and little publicized actions by our very own government. Avoiding the omnipresent clutches of Hardcorp is impossible unless you, like they, are "Hardcore as the Marine Corps." and are willing to join their nefarious ranks.

On the LAN
Blazing Fast Phoenix
The Phoenix, our portable workstation/server, has just been upgraded. Previously choking and gasping with a mere 8 megs of RAM, we have replaced it with a 24 meg chip, the maximum allowable memory for this machine. he performance is far superior and will allow for smoother demonstrations and allow server software to be optimized providing a remote web server in any location that boasts a phone jack. Future plans include purchase of a cellular phone freeing the phoenix from the constraints of needing external attachments to fly through the web.

Beauty and the Beast
As you may know by now, two of our home machines are named Beauty and Beast. These machines are the battle stations behind which Tate Madler, our Creative Director, faces the world of the web. This Saturday the two machines were connected to one monitor and keyboard through a simple data switch. The marriage of Beauty and the Beast forms a collective powerhouse of 128MB RAM at speeds up to 300 MHz and over 3 gigs of collective hard drive space. This consolidation of resources will enable greater productivity as Tate will have access to the scanner and printer as well as server administration all at the flip of a switch.

AWEsome Sounds
Beauty has also received its own personal upgrade with a Creative Labs AWE 32 sound blaster, 12x CD-ROM and 5 speaker system installed. Incredible sound, high speed access to data and audio feedback for completed tasks as Beauty works in the background are all added benefits of our new system. Upgrades also bring 3 of our 5 machines up to MPC3 standards with extensive media control and enhanced performance.

New Software
We have received all three of the software packages we ordered last week. Now we have registered copies of MicroAngelo, TextPad, and Internet Neighborhood. Productivity will be greatly enhanced with these programs and we will be able to bring more exciting services to our clients.

Client Side
Cenflo
A well timed call to Cenflo this past Wednesday brought wonderful news regarding their future on the Internet. Over the past weeks they held several meetings during which Qru Studios was chosen unanimously for their web hosting services as well as site consultation and design. The Cenflo representative handling their move into cybre-space expressed great appreciation to our approach, presentation and assistance through their process. He also expressed interest in more push oriented media bringing a wider scope to the original plans for their site. This will bring the consumer more information and give Qru the opportunity to strut our stuff in new and late breaking technologies.

Adore-A-Pet
We have just received notice that the artwork for the Adore-A-Pet logo is in. Qru Studios will now be able to commence work on the new look for their web site. Featured upgrades will be the addition of the Wiggles and Dr. J characters created by our Creative Director. We will also be adding pet tips and new pet links Internet wide bringing you the best pet-centric site on the Internet.

An Irish Jig
Last weekend Chicago Gaelic Park held their annual Irish Festival. Amid the wonderland of attractions, many who had seen their web site made a point of praising it. With so many compliments and their hit counter nearing 1700 visitors, the folks over at Gaelic Park could not wait to tell us the great news. Now they are preparing to have the site revamped to include musical accompaniment throughout the entire visit.
