"Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it you can make it so."
~Lewis Pennisi, SONY

This week our entire LAN underwent an overhaul, as did our LAN pages on qru.com. This fantastical feat was pulled off by the sheer perseverance of Tate Madler, our Creative Director and fearless leader. As other Qru members were heavily involved with ongoing outside clients and educational pursuits, we were unable to lend a great deal of assistance to this massive project. Tate worked 96 hours straight; taking only small breaks for naps and meals in order to see this through to fruition.

Thank You
Qru Studios would like to send a warm note of thanks to all of you out there who visit our sites. Our hit counts have been steadily and rapidly increasing each month on all of our sites. Qru.com alone received well over 15,000 hits for the month of November. At this rate we hope to break the 20,000 mark within the next few months. Anticorp finally broke the 1000 hits per month mark and the KnowMadz have received over 1,600 hits. The Inner Outpost is not increasing at quite the same rate but has steadily maintained over 1000 hits per month since posting. Chicago Gaelic Park, one of our loyal clients, has also been maintaining a steady viewer base at around 1,000 hits per month. Unfortunately we are not able to get information for the other sites we have designed at this time, but if trends hold true, we bet they are all doing quite well. We base our success on our high quality design and content rich sites as well as conscientious seeding of all of our sites and client's site ensuring that our sites can be found in all search engines. Of course, we could never achieve such success without you, our loyal friends and clients, who visit our sites frequently.

Li'l Red Devil
Loki is the Norse god of mischief and chaos. Both to be cursed and respected, this member of Aasgard (Nordic Heaven) gained great joy in spite of others misfortunes. Such may be expected in the way this computer will reveal the trials and tribulations of the unknown mind of Berkley Design System's UNIX operating system. Having been the typical Frankenstein creation of living from lifelessness this computer will rise into an indifferent world of otherwise Windows-based systems. BSD UNIX is represented with a copyrighted li'l devil representing a daemon (background process), pipes, and forks (processing With a little planning and some luck, Qru controls), featuring zombie processes, kill commands and X mice this should be a veritable temple to the god dedicated to chaos. A 486/66 with 8MB RAM, this system is obviously underpowered to commit any planet moving wonders. This test ground was purely the result of offspring parts from other machines during the LAN evolution.

Now We have Eight
Some good planning on our part and a little luck has brought Qru Studios Loki, our eighth computer. This was born from parts of all of our computers that underwent upgrading this week. The Hundred Aker Woods donated its old brain and heat to Loki in an operation that would have left the Wizard of Oz shivering in his shoes. The Woods is now a 486/100 with a PCI motherboard. Hydra donated her skin to Loki, shedding it for a more compact model that suits her needs fine. All of the machines had a thorough going-over making sure there were no hardware conflicts or software that needed to be reinstalled. There was even time to start refurbishing a computer belonging to one of our clients.

LAN Pages
Along with the myriad changes on our LAN this week, we have also updated our LAN pages on qru.com. The pages now have a complete listing of all of our computers and peripherals with up to date models of most of our machines. The layout of the LAN pages is easier to navigate and we have a better listing of the manufacturers of our parts.

The Heavy and the Light
Irridium is the densest of all elements in the Periodic Table. Aluminum is the least dense of all solids in the periodic table. Irridium is used in gold tipped pens and containers that need to withstand extreme conditions. Aluminum is used to make bicycles and wrap food. These elements have little in common but now they are both a part of the Hardcorp Periodic Table of the Elements.

Client Side

Skull of the Sabretooth
Tate Madler has modeled a skull of a Sabretooth so lifelike and evil that it strikes fear in the hearts of our competitors. The model was done for Sabretooth Magazine, a publication devoted to the Vampire scene in New York City. With time and through references the artwork of Tate Madler should soon grace the pages of several New York based alternative web sites. To see the skull go to the gallery on the Sabretooth web site.

Gaelic Park
Chicago Gaelic Park, a long-time client of Qru Studios, has sent in some updates to their calendar of events. Be sure to stop by the site and see what is new at the park.

Notes From You
