Critics are like eunuchs in a harem. They're there every night, they see it done every night, they see how it should be done every night, but they can't do it themselves.
~Brendan Behan

Due to the added volume of content and design for external clients as well as an immediate response to our hosting service announcement the focus of the studio has shifted to more utilitarian pursuits. In the upcoming weeks you will see changes in the format and the content of Qru's News to help you stay better informed and focused on our increasing activities. We thank you ever so graciously for your support and belief in us during our transition to the Chicago area.

Top of the News

Several potential clients have expressed interest in our hosting services since we announced it last week. A combination of our low prices and full services drew them in with some showing eagerness to be linked off of The Inner Outpost. With such an immediate and positive response, we see great potential in expanding our hosting project to incorporate such featured elements such as database design and administration.

The Inner Outpost
The Inner Outpost is the most unique domains registered by Qru Studios. Rather than the strong emphasis on its own content, the Outpost offers the visitor access to our three other sites as well as our client's sites. The Inner Outpost is to be the launching pad for our hosting services as well as the gateway to our shopping cart system and secure server. The Outpost representatives are several indigenous creatures and bots designed to assist you in your travels. Their role in the Outpost and area of concentration will be better defined as our services increase.

Continued work on Fiduciary
Fiduciary Trust's site is still undergoing general improvements that have greatly enhanced the look and feel of the site as well as optimizing it for viewing on all major browsers. Along with general housekeeping we are in process of adding their 1996 annual report. The source disks arrived late Thursday and there has been some delay in processing them since they were not source files but scanned copies of the pages. They also came in Macintosh format after we requested that Tribech Design Associates, Inc. send PC formatted disks. This unfortunate error will cause unneeded delay in converting their annual report to the web site but we will inform you as to when all work is complete and posted. Until then visit the current Fiduciary Trust site to see what services this elite company has to offer.

Irish Fest 97
Chicago Gaelic Park will be hosting an internationally renown festival this Memorial Day Weekend and we have just added all you need to know to join in the fun to their web site. This two page addition come complete with pictures of all the performers and a detailed event listing. Visit the Festival page for the info then visit the festival for the fun!

Client Side
Hosting Bodybags
Dead End, a novelty gift company out of Louisiana, has chosen Qru Studios for their hosting. The people at Dead End could not resist going with a company that could use gaggle and transmogrification in the same sentence. At $35 monthly with CGI and unlimited bandwidth they knew they had come across a rare find. Dead End is likely to use our shopping cart system and install their own virtual florist program. Their unique collection of products Dead End has to offer will make them one of our most fun clients. You can find them at the appropriately named www.bodybags.com

Cycle the Web
Donald Ping, an independent bike repair and rebuilder out of Berwyn, IL, will be posting a single page on the Inner Outpost. He has several hundred bicycles including racing, mountain and collectors bikes as well as few hard to find styles. Generally ranging in price from $45 to $65 with select models being upwards of $100, there is sure to be something to fit every wallet.
